SterliTECH Tip: Track-etched Membranes Directions for Use

Track-etched membranes offer precise pore size control for applications requiring high filtration accuracy. Follow these simple directions to optimize performance and ensure the best results for your specific filtration needs. 

1. Remove the interleaving (blue) paper before use. 
2. Handle the membrane with forceps or gloved hands. 
3. Avoid touching the membrane with fingers. 
4. If material has both a shiny and dull side, use the shiny side up. 
5. Polycarbonate membrane filters can be dissolved with: 
- N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone 
- Methylene chloride 
- Chloroform 
6. Polyester membrane filters can be dissolved with: 
- m-Cresol 
- o-Chlorophenol 
- Hexafluoroisopropanol
