Alligator Pumps FAQ

To keep your Alligator 200 liquid pump operating properly, flush the tubing with clean water after each use, then run the pump with air for at least 2 minutes to remove any residual liquid. The Alligator 200 is not autoclavable. Clean the exterior regularly using purified water or 75% ethanol, and avoid exposing the pump to autoclave sterilization.

The Alligator 200 liquid pump is designed to handle liquids between 5°C and 80°C during filtration. Maximum operating temperature may vary depending on the operating environment and continuous run time. When pumping hot liquids, consider heat buildup, as the pump is equipped with a built-in thermal protection device that automatically shuts the motor off if it overheats.

The Alligator 200 liquid pump is designed for microbiological analysis and suspended solids (TSS) testing using water samples only. It is not compatible with chemicals, solvents, acids, bases, or other corrosive liquids, as these may damage the pump and void its intended use. For applications involving chemicals, consider a chemically resistant vacuum pump, such as the Chemker Series.

The diaphragm, valve plates, O-rings, and silicone tubing are consumable parts in Rocker vacuum pumps. They should be replaced annually or as needed to maintain optimal vacuum performance. If you notice reduced vacuum, slower pumping speed, or decreased performance, inspect these components and replace them if worn.
