Ceramic Membranes Cleaning Guidelines

Use clean, pure water, which has preferably been filtered in one of the following ways: via RO (reverse osmosis), DI, or has been distilled.
Cleaning Procedure
1. Wash membrane with a 15-20g/L alkaline cleaning solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) at a temperature of 85° C for 30 minutes.
2. Rinse membrane with water until pH returns to neutral.
3. For MF and UF membranes, wash membrane with a 5ml/L acid solution of nitric acid (HNO3) or solution of 75% phosphoric acid (H3PO4) at a temperature of 50° C for 15 min. For Fine-UF membranes, wash with a 1ml/L acid solution of 75% phosphoric acid (H3PO4) at a temperature of 50° C for 15 min.
4. Rinse membrane
