For the second year in a row, Sterlitech has made Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s fastest-growing companies! We would like to thank all of our customers, old and new, for supporting us and making our incredible growth possible. We’re proud to provide the highest quality products to R&D groups, universities, pharmaceutical labs, and environmental scientists. Keep your eyes on us because we plan to keep this hot streak going by adding new product lines, such as the Autofilâ„¢ Filtration System and the EZgripâ„¢ Carboy. Of course, we’d also love to hear what you think we can do to make the list again next year, so leave a comment below. The complete list of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fastest-growing companies can be found here. Â

July 10, 2012We’ve added a new section to our site which will carry all of our products that are tailored for Microbiology and Life Sciences. From the first microscopes designed in the 17th century to the powerful computer-driven machines of the 21st century, the exponential progress of these two fields has rested on the technology and equipment available to scientists. Sterlitech’s new line of microbiology and life Sciences products will continue the trend of innovation and provide scientists and researchers with the gear they need to keep breaking new ground. In the coming days we will be introducing new products into this section as well as moving some of our older offerings there as well. Be sure to continue to visit our site to see the updates.

We recently updated our Standard method and Application guide to include more filter recommendations for environmental analysis applications. These additions include topics such as the EPA method for extracting oil and grease from water and the Field Leach Test method from the United States Geological Survey. New methods are in addition to our existing collection of procedures which includes topics like air sampling, bacteria counting, and silt density index. The product recommendations that we provide with the methods are based on the requirements set forth by the procedure, as well as input from customers and suppliers. Check out the updated Standard Method & Application Guide

March 01, 2012We made a small design change to our product category pages today – A thumbnail of each SKU is now displayed at the category level (You can see an example of the upgraded look here). For many of our bench scale and laboratory equipment categories this will make it much easier and quicker to compare all of the different models and parts. While adding the SKU images may not mean as much for the membrane disc filter, syringe filter, and capsule filter categories since there isn’t a dramatic difference between a 0.1 and 0.2 micron Nylon membrane, it does still make for a cleaner looking display overall. Do you like this new change? Have any other design fixes or upgrades you’d like us to make? Sound off in the comments!

We’re expanding our Laboratory Equipment section with the addition of the Scilogex line of products. This new gear can be found among the Mini Centrifuges, Hotplates/Stirrers, and Shakers. We also made a new category to accommodate their collection of Overhead Stirrers.
The Scilogex products complement our existing lineup by providing a premium option to accomplish a variety of common lab functions. The new items incorporate features like digital displays to make these everyday tasks a snap. For instance, the new Orbital Shakers have an RS232 interface so they can be controlled through a PC, and Scilogex models of Mini Centrifuges include bio-safe rotors and cooling systems. Take a look at the brochures provided on the different category pages for detailed information on each the new models!

Our apologies if you were affected by our sudden office closure yesterday due to a snowstorm here in Seattle. We’re back in business today and road conditions are improving, so we don’t expect to have any other forced holidays in the near future. While there are many things Seattleites do well (software design, passive-aggressiveness), getting around in the snow is decidedly not one of them, as you can see in this YouTube video. Although in our meager defense, very little of the Seattle area sits on flat land and we do have the best soccer fanbase in the country. But until we can master the art of not braking through an ice patch, I get the feeling we will continue to be the object of ridicule from the Midwest, Northeast, and everywhere else that gets below-freezing temperatures from time to time. Stay warm out there, wherever you are!

November 02, 2011This morning we officially launched a new website specifically for Glass Fiber Filters and accessories. Here you will find full lines of glass fiber products from Sterlitech, Advantec MFS, and Munktell, as well as brand comparison tables, FAQs, and product specs to help your decision-making process. We will still continue to offer glass fiber filters on the main Sterlitech site, but since there are so many different items that fall into the glass fiber category we wanted to create a specific area to showcase them that would be easier to navigate for people looking exclusively for these items. Building the new site has also allowed us to include specialty products that you won’t find on the Sterlitech website, like grades of filter paper for breweries, wineries, seed testing, soil analysis, and sugar laboratories. Because Glass Fiber Store is part of the Sterlitech network you can use your existing Sterlitech account credentials to place orders on both sites. We’re also bringing the same

We got some local recognition this week when Puget Sound Business Journal named Sterlitech Corporation as one of the 100 fastest-growing private companies in the state of Washington! This announcement comes after being honored last month by Inc. Magazine as one of their 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the country. You can tell by the boyish smile on Mark’s face that we’re quite giddy about these achievements. Of course none of this is possible without our awesome customers, so thanks to all of you for your support over the years! If you happen to subscribe to the Business Journal, the entire list will be published today in a special issue.
