Pressure filtration devices are designed to maximize flow rates while minimizing holder resistance. For these products, filtration is driven by positive pressure (compressed gas, pressure pump, or syringe) applied upstream of the filter holder.
These filter holders are typically used for ultra-cleaning or sterilizing liquids and gases and in both batch and continuous filtration procedures. Because the filter can be hard to recover in pressure filtration systems, they are more often used when filtrate is the desired end product.
