World Environment Day (WED), celebrated every year on June 5th, is a global initiative established by the United Nations in 1972 to raise awareness and prompt action for the protection of our environment. Each year, a different country hosts WED with a unique theme that focuses on specific environmental issues. This year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 Environment Day celebration during which land restoration, desertification and drought resilience will be the key topics of discussion.
