Our sterile, black, gridded, Mixed Cellulose Esters (MCE) membranes are general purpose filters with high recovery rates, porosity, and superior flow rates. These pre-sterilized filters are suited for single use in many microbiological applications, including the examination of water, wastewater, pharmaceuticals, food, and beverages. The coloring and grid-lines on the membrane's surface eliminate eye-fatigue and the need for a counter-stain to assist with the counting of retained colonies. Yeast, mold, and microorganisms are visible and easy to quantify due to the color contrast inherently provided by the filter. The MCE black, gridded, sterile membrane filter is an ideal choice for the examination of bottled water, carbonated beverages, beer, and wine.
