Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I operate my Rocker vacuum pump in an orientation that is not level?
No, the Rocker vacuum pumps must be resting on a level, flat surface during operation. Operating the Rocker 300 or 400 series pumps while not level will cause the Prote protection device within the inlet filter to close.
Q: Can I move my Rocker vacuum pump while it is operating?
No, the Rocker vacuum pumps should not be moved while operating. Turn of the pump and open the inlet to atmosphere before moving it. Moving an operating Rocker 300 or 400 series pump will cause the Prote protection device within the inlet filter to close.
Q: My Rocker 300 series, or Rocker 400 series, vacuum pump is operating but there is no vacuum at the inlet hose barb. What is the problem?
The Prote protection device within the inlet filter may have closed inadvertently. This commonly occurs if the pump was not level, or was moved, while operating. To reset the Prote protection device to the open position, the inlet filter bowl and filter must be removed so that the Prote float can be lowered to the open position. Once the Prote float is in the open position, the filter and bowl can be reinstalled.
Q: Why is the Rocker 800 vacuum pump not supplied with a moisture trap?
The Rocker 800 vacuum pump is commonly used for high flow applications, such as vacuum ovens, where a moisture trap is not required. If you require a high flow vacuum pump with moisture trap, then you should order the Rocker 801 vacuum pump.

Q: Is it possible to add a moisture trap to the Rocker 800 vacuum pump?
If you have already purchased the Rocker 800 vacuum pump, then you can purchase the inlet moisture trap assembly separately (SKU 167801-06) and install it. Please note that the maximum flow rating of the pump will decrease from 100 to 80Lpm.
If you have not already purchased the Rocker 800 vacuum pump, then you can purchase the Rocker 801 vacuum pump. It is the same pump with the inlet moisture trap assembly already installed.
