Sterlitech offers a wide variety of syringe filters for your scientific needs. The membrane types we offer, cellulose acetate, polyethersulfone (PES), nylon and PTFE, come in different sizes (from 3 mm to 30 mm) and porosities (from 0.1 to 0.5 micron) to cover a very wide range of applications. Most filters are available sterilized and have an option for a glass fiber pre- filter.

Sterlitech’s Chemical Compatibility Chart will help you choose the right type of membrane for your application. We are also pleased to provide you with some buying guidelines for the syringe filters we offer:

• Sterlitech Cellulose Acetate Syring Filters are hydrophilic and are appropriate for maximum sample recovery, such as tissue culture media preparation, sterile or non-sterile filtration and are ideally suited for protein and enzyme samples. They are not compatible with organic solvents.
• Sterlitech Nylon Syringe Filters are hydrophilic and are designed for sterilization or clarification of samples. They are compatible with most solvents, however, using them with strong acids and methylene chloride is not advocated.
• Sterlitech Polyethersulfone (PES) Syringe Filters are hydrophilic and well suited for maximum sample recovery such as media preparation, filtration and clarification of fluids, buffers, and other aqueous solutions in which low protein binding and low extractables are important. They are compatible with most solvents; however, using them with strong acids is not advocated.
• Sterlitech PTFE (Teflon®) Syringe Filters are hydrophobic and are designed to filter most aggressive solvents, acids, and base samples. PTFE is also an ideal choice for venting applications.
