Sterlitech aquires high pressure stirred cell product line
Kent, Washington (October 22, 2002) -- Sterlitech Corporation announced today
the acquisition of the High Pressure Stirred Cell product line from Osmonics,
Inc (NYSE:OSM).
The Sterlitech HP4750 is a 316 stainless steel, high-pressure, low hold-up
volume (1 ml), chemically resistant stirred cell that performs a wide variety
of membrane separations. Unique in its capability to handle pressures up to
1000 psig (69 bar), the HP4750 Stirred Cell can be used for reverse osmosis,
nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, or microfiltration. Additional benefits of
the HP4750 are that volatile solutions may be safely processed since a pump
is not required for operation and any 47-50 mm diameter disc may be used for
applications such as chemical processing, biomedical, or membrane studies.
“Stirred cells will continue to play a major role in the development
of membrane technology,” said Mark Spatz, President of Sterlitech Corporation; “We
expect the Sterlitech HP4750 Stirred Cell to be active tool for research and
development around the world.”
