Asbestos Test Specifies Sterlitech Silver Membrane
Kent, Washington (October 16, 2001) -- The National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health, NIOSH, has specified Sterlitech Corporations Silver
Metal Membranes for bulk sampling of Chrysotile Asbestos using X-ray Diffraction.
NIOSH Method 9000 specifies the use of a 0.45 micron silver membrane filter
for depositing the sample. Silver metal membranes are an excellent substrate
for use with X-ray diffraction; they provide a low level of background noise
and distinct silver diffraction lines.
NIOSH also specifies Silver Metal Membranes for sampling Boron
Carbide, Bromine, Chlorine, Hydrogen Cyanide, Lead Sulfide, Silica,
and Vandium Oxides.
