Sterlitech Nylon membrane filters, nylon capsule filters and nylon syringe filters are internally supported with an inert, internal polyester support web, giving them added dimensional strength and stability to prevent cracking, tearing, curling and breaking. This added strength and durability is advantageous during usage that involves aggressive handling or automated equipment.
A naturally hydrophilic membrane, Sterlitech Nylon membrane filters do not require wetting agents that can interfere with biological processes. Additionally, the high surface area of this particular type of membrane disc filter allows it to successfully immobilize antigens, antibodies and other proteins. The resulting hydrophilic membrane has a void volume of 70-85 percent for high diffusion and low-flow resistance.
